This year’s Partnership Dance Showcase was a great success featuring 16 performances by students from Brooke Weston, Corby Business and Kettering Science Academies.
Parents, Governors and the Principals from all three Academies attended the hour-long event which received very positive feedback. Brooke Weston’s Principal, Trish Stringer said: ‘The whole show was simply brilliant and a pleasure to watch.’
It involved nearly 120 students who performed to tracks including Rolling in the Deep, Fix You, Moves Like Jagger and a Bollywood-inspired theme. Pieces for duos, trios and groups all featured in the hour-long show that demonstrated the students’ choreography and performance skills.
The showcase has been in the planning stages for weeks with the individual schools coming in for technical rehearsals before collaborating on the dress rehearsal and performance that took place in the Weston Theatre.
Miss Duguid said: ‘Everybody said it was a real success, it was far more slick and fluid than last year’s show, the schools came together and you would never have known it was three separate schools. The students were brilliantly behaved and raised the standard from the previous year. It was a real team effort and we didn’t label the dances as being from a particular school so the evening flowed seamlessly. The students were eager to see what each other had produced and while they were waiting to perform their own piece they watched a live feed from the stage so they really felt involved in the whole show.’
Thanks go to everyone; students, staff and technical support staff, who contributed to the success of the evening.
