Brooke Weston has been listed as one of the country's outstanding schools by Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills. The list names all the educational establishments which were awarded an 'outstanding' grade during the 2006/7 round of Government inspections and Brooke Weston is one of just three secondary schools in Northamptonshire to be named.
When publishing the list, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills, Christine Gilbert said that 'the schools and colleges are those judged outstanding for overall effectiveness.'
Of 6,848 schools inspected in 2006/07, 14% were judged to be outstanding. The other county secondary schools named alongside Brooke Weston were Northampton School for Boys and Northampton School for Girls. Corby-based Pen Green Centre and Maplefields School are also named for their inspections.
Brooke Weston's Chief Executive, Mr Peter Simpson will attend a conference in Birmingham where education chiefs will contribute to an Ofsted publication, and the College has been awarded an official 'outstanding' logo to be used on its stationery and website.
